Giving a bike & Give Back This Christmas.
Copper Trails Bike Hire again is joining forces with The Salvation Army Copper Coast to Give Back to the Community this Christmas.
Moonta, October 2024
As the holiday season approaches, Copper Trails Bike Hire (CTBH) is proud to renew its partnership with The Salvation Army Copper Coast (SALVOS) and the Moonta Men’s Shed to give back to the local community. With the challenges of the past year, many families in our region continue to face financial difficulties, and this initiative aims to bring some relief and joy during the festive season.
In 2023, CTBH successfully donated over 50 refurbished bikes to those in need. This year, we are committed to continuing this impactful campaign, with a goal to donate at least 50 more bikes by December 2024.
Call for Action: Donate Good Quality Bikes
From now until November 30, 2024, we encourage the local community to donate their pre-loved bicycles. These bikes should be in good condition and dropped off at our Copper Trails Bike Hire location in Moonta during opening hours. Please do not leave bikes at the door or drop them off at the SALVOS store, as we need to assess their suitability for refurbishment. Your unused bike can bring joy and mobility to someone in need this Christmas.
Anne and Colin Minion, owners of Copper Trails Bike Hire, share their commitment to this cause: "We believe in the power of community. By donating your unused bicycles, you can directly contribute to brightening someone's holiday season and making a positive change in our community."
Making an Impact Beyond the Holidays
While this initiative is primarily about helping our neighbours in need during the holiday season, it also aligns with our commitment to environmental responsibility. Reusing old bikes not only promotes sustainability but also reduces our environmental footprint.
Anne and Colin expressed their optimism, saying, "By coming together as a community, we can create a ripple effect of goodwill that extends far beyond this Christmas. Let's make this holiday season a time of joy, compassion, and unity."

Donations must be dropped off at our Copper Trails Bike Hire location in Moonta during opening hours, so we can check its suitability. Please do not leave them at the door, as we will not be responsible for any bikes that are not stored safely in our shop. Also, please do not drop off at the SALVOS store as we will need to complete a full service on the bike to ensure it is suitable and road safe for donation. The Team will manage the donation process with SALVOS.
